Born in San José, Costa Rica, Melissa is a multilingual violinist, music educator, and psychologist with over 15 years of experience in performance and string education across Latin America, Europe, and the United States. She holds a Yamaha and Bornoff Violin Instructor certificate, as well as a BA in Psychology and a BA in Violin Performance from the University of Costa Rica.
Bridging music and psychology, Melissa specializes in group-based music education methodologies that foster both artistic excellence and social development. Previously, she served for three years as a Bornoff Approach teacher training specialist in Latin America, contributing to the professional development of music educators in diverse cultural contexts
Melissa is a passionate advocate for music education. Currently, she works with Sound Impact as a marketing and programs associate, contributing to initiatives that use music as a vehicle for social transformation and community engagement.
She loves to travel, and her experiences around the world have given her the ability to work cross-culturally and adapt quickly to new environments. She is currently based in Seville, Spain, where she serves as Concertmaster of the Orquesta Filarmonía de Sevilla.
